Latest Alchemy Creator is Loaded with New Features

By Product Management Team |

If you’re like most Intertek Alchemy clients who customize and create courses in Alchemy Creator, we’re excited to inform you Alchemy Creator 6.1 is now available! We’ve packed this latest version with a collection of new features that will have something for everyone. It’s an effortless process to upgrade your Creator, and we encourage you to do so soon so you can enjoy all the new capabilities we describe below.

Rich Text Formatting
You’ll see new, customary buttons that let you use rich text formatting in Creator courses you are building or editing. This capability includes bold, italics, and underlining, as well as lists made using bullets or numbers. The feature is only available on “Point Slides” and “Remediation Slides.”

Use these formatting options to make your slides more visually appealing, improve communication, and provide a superior learning experience for your workers.

Export Course Script as a PDF
Often when you’re building a training course, you collaborate with colleagues across the organization and, sometimes, contractors who are providing voiceover or translation services. Now you’re able to share an easy-to-read course script complete with text and imagery in the convenient form of a PDF file. The familiar “Export” button within Creator now lets you export a script and share it as you wish.

Arabic Language Support
We’re excited to introduce our first right-to-left language – Arabic. Now, you’ll be able to easily translate any courses into this language spoken by hundreds of millions around the world. This better enables you to expand operations to more countries and more effectively train local employees who prefer this language. When working in Creator, the text will be justified right-to-left in the entry box and learners will see it displayed in this same fashion during training.

Even More Features
Creator 6.1 has even more features to help trainers and learners.

  • There’s a new non-graded rating scale question type. Based on the Likert Scale and with answer values you can change, this question type helps you measure opinions.
  • We’ve enhanced the workflow when you’re exporting courses. English is no longer the default language, and you’ll be prompted to choose a language for courses you create moving forward. The new window also allows you to verify and change the course settings before exporting.
  • You now have a convenient hyperlink to the Help Center article explaining the short-lived “Token Key” in the authentication window that appears when you’re attempting to download Alchemy courses.
  • A reminder to “start OneDrive before saving” will display for users who experience a failure when trying to save a course to OneDrive.

Upgrading Your Alchemy Creator
When you open Microsoft PowerPoint and have an Internet connection, the Creator upgrade will download in the background. Upon closing PowerPoint, you’ll be invited to click a button to install the update that will enable all these new features. The next time you open PowerPoint you’ll have Creator 6.1 and the new functionality.

If you want to install this latest Creator on a new computer, you can download Alchemy Creator 6.1 here. You may need internal IT assistance to complete the installation.

Note:
The latest Alchemy Creator version is 6.1.2. In short succession, we released 3 updates:

  • July 8 – version 6.1.0 with the many few features described above
  • July 10 – version 6.1.1 to resolve an issue related to the PDF script
  • August 20 – version 6.1.2 to resolve an issue related to question audio missing in imported Alchemy courses.

We’re continuing to make Alchemy Creator a more powerful tool so you can make your training program more engaging and effective in changing worker behaviors. We’d love to hear from you as we choose and prioritize our next set of changes and additions. Please send your feedback and ideas to us at productfeedback@alchemysystems.com.
