New and Updated Courses for LOTO, PPE, and More

By Product Management Team |

Keeping your workers safe is one of the most important items on your to-do list every day. Just like you, we want workers to return home whole and healthy each day, and to this end we are beginning an update to our library of workplace safety courses. As we go, we’ll add more than 20 new courses to this library. We’re starting with the courses our clients use the most.

Lockout/Tagout Training
You know lockout/tagout is a regulatory requirement, but more important, the proper use of these procedures saves lives. We’ve updated the two existing courses, and we’ve added 3 more courses for the workers authorized for lockout/tagout. We’re pleased to now provide training designed for these individuals to ensure they are safe in their actions. Here are the new courses followed by the updated courses:

  • Lockout/Tagout for Authorized – Part 1 of 3– UEM406
  • Lockout/Tagout for Authorized – Part 2 of 3 – UEM407
  • Lockout/Tagout for Authorized – Part 3 of 3 – UEM408

Updated:

  • Lockout/Tagout Procedures – UEM9
  • Lockout/Tagout: REFRESHER – Procedures – UEM59

Personal Protective Equipment Courses
Most of your workforce wears some kind of PPE to help them work safely. It’s easy for workers to skip putting some of this equipment on…it saves them time, right? Our courses help them understand that it’s not worth the trade-off. We’ve added two new refresher courses; one is all about the proper use of personal protective equipment, and the other is specific to protecting your employees’ hearing.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): REFRESHER – UEM054
  • Hearing Protection: REFRESHER – UEM062

Updated:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – UEM4
  • Hearing Protection – UEM12

Bloodborne Pathogens
With so many people who might come to work with small injuries or draw blood from an accident, the risk of bloodborne pathogens is prevalent and real. We’ve updated the existing course on this topic and added a new refresher, so you have another option to help keep this important training top of mind.

  • Bloodborne Pathogens REFRESHER – UEM051
  • Updated: Bloodborne Pathogens – UEM1

Bird Flu Safety
We announced another new course early this month. Bird flu is a growing issue for poultry, dairy, cattle, and humans. This new course provides essential information on the virus, speaks to the symptoms, and gives workers and safety leaders best practices to reduce the spread. Consider adding this new course – Avian Influenza (Bird Flu): Overview (UEM049) – to your Learning Plans.

Our updated and new courses make use of storytelling to help staff remember their learning when they’ve returned to their workstations. Also, scenario-based questions give them a chance to see how the training applies in real life at work. You’ll find all these courses in the Workplace Safety category, and they’re available in English, Spanish, and Canadian French. You have the option of using them for group training or eLearning.

If you have the existing courses assigned in Learning Plans, these updated versions will automatically be shown the next time someone plays the topic. For the six new courses, you’ll have to plan the use of them and take steps to add them to Learning Plans as you wish. As mentioned, this is only the beginning. We are working to bring you additional and updated workplace safety courses throughout 2025.

Client feedback truly helps fuel our courseware development roadmap. Are there other topics you need content for? Are there new and emerging changes you’d like to share with us? We’d love to hear from you and ask that you send your feedback and ideas to us at productfeedback@alchemysystems.com.
