Safety Training Updates for Heat Stress, Asbestos, Machine Guarding, and More
We’re working through updates to our Workplace Safety courses and are excited to let you know about our progress. Our clients, including our Content Expertise Board (CEB), continue to guide our content updates and the creation of new courses. In this round of updates, we have 5 new courses and 7 updated courses.
Clients said they needed our Heat Stress course update very quickly and urged us to accelerate the work on this course. We moved it up in the schedule and added two more courses to expand our coverage of the topic. Parts of our world are dealing with heat they don’t usually see, and these courses can help their employees work safely.

It’s well established that knowledge retention is higher when the learning is repeated. We’re helping with this by introducing four new refresher courses that give you this opportunity to revisit key topics with your frontline employees.
New Courses
- Machine Guarding: REFRESHER – UEM058
- Fire Prevention and Protection: REFRESHER – UEM052
- Asbestos Awareness: REFRESHER – UEM066
- Heat Stress: REFRESHER – Response – UEM069
- Heat Stress: Prevention – UEM039
Updating existing courses is important work to re-connect with staff that have been with you for years and to bring in the latest thinking in adult learning and operational best practices. You’ll see in our updated courses that we use storytelling to engage workers and help them remember the lessons. And we have turned to scenario-based questions to assist your employees in seeing how the training connects to their everyday work. We’re including some of our most popular safety courses in this round of updates.
Updated Courses
- Fire Prevention and Protection – UEM2
- Slips, Trips, and Falls – UEM5
- Slips, Trips, and Falls: REFRESHER – UEM55
- Emergency Preparedness – UEM14
- Machine Guarding – UEM15
- Asbestos Awareness – UEM36
- Heat Stress: Response – UEM19 (title changed from “Heat Exhaustion” )
All these courses are available in English, Spanish, and Canadian French, and you can use both group training and eLearning to deliver the training. You’ll want to review your Learning Plans to see where you could include these new courses. For the updated courses, it’s good to understand what the latest content looks like. Remember, you have the option in Alchemy Manager to View Script which lets you quickly take in a course without watching it in real time.
We can be the best partner in helping you reach your goals and vision for your training program if we know where you’re going and what you need. Please let us know by sending your ideas and feedback to us at productfeedback@alchemysystems.com.
